You should look at the VMware documentation for that question.

If you are using windows I am thinking there is an actual setting for that that is fairly straight forward. I think the default setting for VM Nics is to be bridged to some type of NATed or Host Only network. I cannot speak to this specifically because I am using ESX.

I am having a problem with adding space.

I've just extended the locallv,to 50GB, however when I go into the webportal >diskspace, it only shows 30GB. When I go to the command line and do a lvdisplay, the volume group "locallv" is 49.9GB. Not sure why the webportal is not displaying the actual space available.

Please advise on how this might be corrected? Eventually I need to extend this to 100GB, but it looks like the webpage will only display 30GB.

Thanks

Ok, I did this via the web gui, I was under the impression the web gui does all this. I did not do this via the command line. When I now try to extent it again to correct, it states that all space is in use now. But the GUI says 30gb but the command line says 50GB.

How do I get them both in sync?

you need to re-install VM ware and read the instructions carefully during installation and choose your proper sittings during the process.
