wimextract/updatewim x64 Segmentation fault

Postby aliceander » Tue Apr 03, 2012 4:39 am

wimextract and updatewin cause a Segmentation fault on CentOS 6.2 64bit OS.

Trying to determine options:

--Is the x64 bit OS causing a problem?
--As a workaround, can I use imagex on a windows box to update BOOT.WIM rather than updatewim?

If I can use imagex as a workaround, where should I install actionfile.txt in the BOOT.WIM -- in the sources directory?

I Suppose you're trying to use Centos 6.2 64 bit as the OS for UDA, right? If so, the 64 bits may indeed be the problem.
The wim tools have only been tested in the current 32 bit OS where the actual UDA is built upon.

As a workaround you may be able to use imagex and prepare your boot.wim on windows instead. the actionfile.txt is actually some kind of script that tells the UDA what changes to make to the boot.wim file. Take a look at the contents of actionfile.txt and you'll see the changes that UDA is trying to make... Basically it moves setup.exe out of the way (which will be autostarted otherwise) and adds the selected network drivers and an installation script.
